The Best Designer Fashion Dupes: Luxury Looks for Less
We love a designer piece. But we also love finding something similar for less.
If something catches our eye, chances are we’ll immediately start wondering whether there’s a cheaper version out there. A bag we’ve seen all over Instagram, a pair of shoes suddenly appearing on everyone’s feet, or a jacket that seems to have taken over TikTok – we’ll go looking for how we can get a similar look for less.
We’ve done the scrolling to find the alternatives that genuinely caught our eye. We’re looking at the details as well as the price, because a good dupe needs to do more than simply look vaguely similar. If it’s not quite up to scratch, then it’s simply not making the cut!
So, here’s our list of the designer pieces we’re loving right now for August/September 2026 and the alternatives we’d actually recommend taking a look at.

01. Chanel 25
The Chanel 25 has been on my radar ever since it launched, and I completely get the appeal. It has all the things you expect from Chanel – diamond quilting, chain straps and the signature hardware – but the shape is softer and slouchier than some of the house’s more structured bags. It’s a little more relaxed, which makes it feel easier to wear every day.
It’s already become a major fashion-girl favourite, but there’s one fairly significant drawback: the price.
The medium Chanel 25 currently costs £5,560 in the UK, which is firmly in the admire-from-afar territory for me.

This is one of those dupes where I actually think the comparison holds up. The Charlie Bag by Tory Burch has that same softly structured shape, diamond quilting and chain detailing, while the drawstring construction gives it the relaxed, slightly slouchy feel we’re after.
At £595…yes, this is still a major investment. But, it’s a fraction of the price of the original. And, importantly, it looks like a genuinely nice bag in its own right, rather than a cheap imitation.
Our verdict: If it’s the relaxed, quilted Chanel look you’re after rather than the logo itself, this is one of the strongest alternatives we’ve found.

02. The Row Cecily
The Row Cecily has been everywhere lately, and I completely understand why. It’s tiny, understated and very The Row – no big logo or flashy hardware, just a simple rectangular shape, slim handles and that glossy satin finish.
It’s also the kind of bag that looks deceptively simple until you see the price. The current Cecily Top Handle starts at £1,160 in the UK.

Valesque Thea Leather-Trimmed Satin-Shell Tote – £180
This is the one that caught my eye when I was looking for a Cecily alternative. It isn’t an exact copy as the shape isn’t identical, but it has the same small, polished satin-bag feel that makes the Cecily so appealing.
The Thea has a compact rectangular shape, slim leather handles and a satin finish, and at £180, it’s a much easier price to swallow.
I also really like that it doesn’t look like a £180 attempt at a designer bag. It feels like a nice little bag in its own right, which is always what I’m looking for with a dupe. It’s also been picked up by British Vogue and Who What Wear as one of the key alternatives to the Cecily, which gives us much more confidence than simply finding a vaguely similar bag on a high-street site.
Our verdict: If you’re after the polished, tiny satin-bag look that’s made the Cecily so desirable, the Valesque Thea is the strongest alternative we’d choose right now.

If you’re interested in The Row’s minimalist, understated aesthetic than the Cecily’s exact silhouette, COS’s Archive Tote is a brilliant lower-cost option. At just £55, it has the pared-back ’90s feel that made the Cecily so appealing, without that four-figure price tag.
03. Chanel Ballet Flats
I’ve had Chanel’s two-tone ballet flats on my radar for ages. The black-and-beige combination, little bow and cap toe make them instantly recognisable, and they’re one of those shoes that somehow work with pretty much everything.
They’re also very much back in the mix for 2026. Ballet flats have been everywhere again, and Chanel’s classic two-tone version is still one of the pairs I’d reach for if the price weren’t quite so painful.
The current Chanel ballerinas start at around £820 in the UK, with some styles getting close to £1,000.

Jones Bootmaker Olivie Leather Pumps – £89
I came across these while looking for a Chanel alternative, and they’re one of the better matches I’ve found. The black-and-beige colourway, two-tone finish and low-profile shape give you that same polished look without trying to plaster Chanel’s branding all over it.
They’re also made from 100% leather, which is a big reason I’d pick these over some of the cheaper versions out there. At £89, you’re getting a proper leather flat for a fraction of the Chanel price.
They’re obviously not Chanel, and the details aren’t identical. But if what you want is that classic two-tone ballet-flat look, I think these are a really good find.
I’m still dreaming of having a pair of Chanel ballet flats in my collection. But for now, these Jones Bootmaker leather pumps make a fair compromise.
Our verdict: These are a seriously good alternative to Chanel. They don’t pretend to be Chanel – and that’s exactly why they work. The leather construction is the real selling point – you’re getting a well-made, classic pair of flats rather than sacrificing quality for the lower price.
04. Dragon Diffusion Rosanna Woven Bag
Dragon Diffusion’s Rosanna is one of those bags that fashion girls seem to have collectively decided is the woven bag to own. The slim, slightly slouchy silhouette and intricately woven finish give it that effortless, understated look that works just as well with jeans and a T-shirt as it does with a summer dress.
The Rosanna is made from woven leather, with each bag hand-sewn to create its distinctive, irregular finish. It’s beautiful, but at £320, it’s not exactly an impulse purchase.

Anthropologie Calla Woven Shoulder Bag – £88
If you’ve had the Dragon Diffusion Rosanna saved to your wishlist but can’t quite justify £320, Anthropologie’s Calla Bag is the one to know about. It’s become a seriously popular alternative thanks to its slouchy woven shape, shoulder-friendly proportions and almost identical overall aesthetic. I, for sure, have been seeing the Calla bag all over my TikTok.
At £88, it costs less than a third of the Rosanna, while the roomy shape and removable pouch make it practical for everyday use, too. The only compromise is the material: the Calla is made from 100% woven polyurethane rather than leather.
Our verdict: If the look of Dragon Diffusion is what you’re after, this is the dupe we’d buy. You don’t get the real-leather craftsmanship of the Rosanna, but at £88, the Calla is an incredibly convincing way to get the same woven-bag aesthetic for a fraction of the price.
05. Alaïa fishnet ballet flats
I feel like Alaïa’s fishnet ballet flats are one of those trends where you could tell pretty quickly that the high street was going to go mad for them. The original La Ballerine launched back in 2022, but the mesh-flat trend it helped kick off is still going strong – and Alaïa’s versions remain one of the most recognisable. British Vogue is still highlighting Alaïa’s mesh and crystal ballet flats as a major influence on the 2026 ballet-flat trend.
The current Alaïa Ballet Flats in Fishnet are £690 in the UK. They’re made in Italy from fishnet fabric and patent leather, with a lambskin lining, a rubber sole, and a buckle detail.

EGO Ivy Mesh Detailing Flat Ballet Pumps – £24
I spent a fair bit of time looking at the cheaper mesh flats for this one, and EGO’s Ivy is the one I’d actually go for. The black patent finish and fine-mesh panels give you the same slightly sheer look as the Alaïa pair, while the flat ballet-pump shape keeps the overall silhouette pretty close.
And at £24, it’s a very low-risk way to try the trend.
Obviously, you’re not getting Alaïa’s construction or materials at this price, but if you’re mainly after the look, I think these do a surprisingly good job.
Our verdict: If it’s the look you’re after rather than the Alaïa label, the EGO Ivy is a brilliant find. The black patent and fine mesh detailing give you the same delicate, slightly sheer aesthetic for just £24.
06. Chloé Paddington Bag
I was very excited when Chloé brought the Paddington back. It’s one of those bags I remember from the mid-2000s, and the oversized padlock and slouchy shape are instantly recognisable. The fact that it’s having a comeback for 2026 makes it feel much more tempting the second time around , and the revisited style has been picked up as one of the standout archive bag revivals of 2026.
The new Paddington keeps everything that made the original so recognisable: a soft, slouchy silhouette, chunky hardware and that oversized padlock. The current version is made from suede calfskin, with calfskin lining and a single zip closure. The current small Paddington is £1,790 in the UK.

BDG Karlie Lock Shoulder Bag – £48
This was one of those finds where I immediately saw the Paddington connection. The slouchy shape, rolled handles and oversized lock all give it that same chunky, slightly boho feel, without looking like it’s trying to be an exact replica.
It’s also available in nine colours, including black, brown, cream, wine and dark green, which makes it even more tempting as autumn approaches.
The big compromise is the material. The Karlie bag by BDG is 100% polyurethane faux leather, rather than the suede calfskin used for the Chloé. But at £48 compared with £1,790, that’s a pretty significant saving…!
Our verdict: For £48, the Karlie is a seriously convincing way to get the Paddington look without the four-figure price tag. You obviously aren’t getting Chloé’s leather craftsmanship, but the combination of the slouchy shape, rolled handles and padlock detail makes this one of the better high-street interpretations we’ve found.
07. Saint Laurent Le Loafer Supple
I’ve been very into the idea of brown suede loafers for autumn, and Saint Laurent’s Le Loafer Supple is pretty much the dream version. The shape is classic and understated, while the dark chocolate suede makes it feel a little softer than the chunky loafers we’ve all seen a million times.
The pair I’m looking at has Saint Laurent’s signature Cassandre hardware, a hand-stitched moc-toe construction and a rich dark-brown suede upper. They’re £935 in the UK, though, which is a lot of money for an everyday flat.

These M&S Suede Loafers are such a good alternative. When visiting my local M&S, these instantly stood out to me. The chocolate-brown suede, classic penny-loafer shape and understated saddle detailing give them a similarly polished feel, while the leather upper keeps them feeling like a proper shoe rather than a throwaway trend piece. And they feel like such a good quality piece.
They’re also proving popular with shoppers, with more than 200 reviews and an overall 4.5-star rating. One recent reviewer even called them a great alternative to the viral YSL loafer.
Our verdict: If you want the brown suede loafer look that’s everywhere for autumn without spending nearly £1,000, these are a brilliant buy. They’re not a copy of the Saint Laurent design, but they capture the colour, material and overall silhouette beautifully.
08. Miu Miu Crotchet Bags
Miu Miu’s colourful crochet bags are also having a moment, and they’re exactly the kind of summer-meets-holiday piece we’re seeing everywhere right now. I love the colour pop they can bring to almost any outfit. The oversized shapes, playful stripes and handmade-looking crochet give them that slightly nostalgic feel that Miu Miu does so well.
They’re the kind of bag that instantly makes an outfit feel more relaxed, whether you’re heading to the beach or just carrying it around the city.
The problem is that I couldn’t find a single Miu Miu-style bag that I thought was good enough to call a proper dupe. And I’m not going to force one just to have something to link to.

Marie Marie Amsterdam Bags – from £40
Instead, I found myself completely falling down a rabbit hole on Marie Marie Amsterdam. There are loads of different crochet bags on site, from oversized shoppers and mini totes to round bags and little pouches. Plus there are SO many colour combinations to choose from, meaing you can go for something that feels distinctly Miu Miu without trying to copy one particular bag.
The bags are handmade in the Netherlands, with their crochet styles made from Oeko-Tex-certified cotton yarn. Prices range from around £40 for smaller styles to around £135 for the large crochet shoppers, depending on your preference.
Our verdict: Not technically a one-for-one dupe, but probably the best place I’d send you if you’re currently lusting after Miu Miu’s crochet bags. And honestly, I think that’s more useful than recommending a mediocre lookalike.

09. Burberry Cropped Trench Coat
As we move into Autumn, there’s one wardrobe staple we’re always happy to bring back: the trench coat. But this season, the classic is getting a shorter update. Cropped trenches are everywhere for 2026, giving the timeless trench a slightly more modern, fashion-forward feel while still being ridiculously easy to wear.
Burberry is obviously the ultimate designer reference. Its cropped Gabardine Mayfair Trench Jacket takes the house’s signature details and places them into a much shorter silhouette – and as a short girlie, I really appreciate a crop. Made from 100% cotton gabardine, the Burberry cropped trench is currently £1,460.

Zara Short Double-Breasted Trench Jacket
If you love the cropped Burberry look but don’t want to pay the price (fair enough!), Zara’s Short Double-Breasted Trench Jacket is a great choice. It also comes with a high/stand-up collar, long sleeves with buttoned tabs and front welt pockets. And even better, it’s only £49.99.
Our verdict: If you’ve been eyeing the cropped-trench trend but don’t want to spend designer money, Zara’s is a very easy way to try it. It captures the short, double-breasted trench-jacket silhouette without pretending to be a like-for-like replacement for Burberry.
